Main Street Mural in Elkhorn City, Kentucky
In March and June of 2005, I travelled to Elkhorn City with Suzanne Lacy and Otis students to complete The Blue Line Trail nature/art project. During my first trip, Suzanne and I talked about creating a mural for the Main Street portion of the trail. In June, I worked with Nina Aragon of the Elkhorn City Area Heritage council and two artists, Marissa and Sean, to design and create the Main Street mural. It depicts Elkhorn City's past and revives some culture that may help define its future.
